The Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library Author Series is the library's showcase of literary events. Throughout the year, authors of varying backgrounds and genres are invited by the library to inspire a love of reading, feature voices that energize community conversations and support the arts while providing an enjoyable literary experience. Previous Author Series events include author forums, roundtable discussions, poetry readings, and writer workshops. The Author Series is sponsored by the Cultural Foundation of Harrison County and the Friends of Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library.
The 2020 Season features an egaging lineup, including:
- Women Speak: An Afternoon of Story, Poetry & Song (Saturday, November 14, 2020 | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM | Waldomore): Presented by the Women of Appalachia Project, women from throughout 11 states will share their culture and experiences, embrace issues of marginalization and stereotype, to show the whole women, beyond superficial factors often used to judge her.Due to the popularity of the series as well as the limited number of seats available at Waldomore, this program will be ticketed events. - Autumn Authors Forum (Saturday, November 21, 2020 | 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM | Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library): A favorite of the autumn library calendar, join authors from throughout the region as they promote their craft. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
